Gold prices in the domestic market have risen sharply within 24 hours, the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced on Tuesday.
The price of 22-carat gold has been increased by Tk 3,324 per bhori, bringing it to Tk2.77 lakh. The new rate takes effect from 10am today.
In a press release, BAJUS said the rise reflects the increasing value of pure gold (tezabi shona) and the overall market situation.
The association also set the new rates for other carats, 21-carat gold at Tk2.64 lakh per bhori, 18-carat at Tk2.26 lakh, and traditional-style gold at Tk1.85 lakh per bhori.
