Gold prices have decreased and the price of 22-carat gold dropped by Tk 2158 per bhori (11.664 grams) to stand at Tk2,35,963.
Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Wednesday.
The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk2,25,232 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,93,39, and traditional method gold at Tk1,57,231.
BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a fall in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.
The notice further said 5 per cent VAT and a minimum wage of 6 per cent must be added to the selling price of gold. The wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.
Meanwhile, silver prices have remained unchanged. Prices of 22‑carat silver is selling at Tk5,657 per bhori, 21‑carat at Tk5,365, 18‑carat at Tk4,607, and traditional silver at Tk3,441.
