Prime Minister Tarique Rahman participated in 46th national rally of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party (VDP) on Wednesday, held at the force’s academy in Safipur, Kaliakair.
The prime minister reached the academy’s parade ground around 10am.
He was officially received by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed, the director general of Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, and the Home Ministry’s Senior Secretary Manzur Morshed Chowdhury.
To commence the proceedings, the prime minister placed a wreath at the martyrs’ memorial in honour of the courageous members of the force.
He then took his place on the stage to observe a series of physical drills and display performances.
Upon the conclusion of the displays, the prime minister approached the participants to exchange greetings and shake hands, voicing his appreciation for their exceptional discipline and performance.
The event was also attended by various Cabinet members, lawmakers, and directors of Ansar-VDP.
