Gold prices have increased once again. The price of 22-carat gold climbed by Tk3,266 per bhori (11.664 grams) to stand at Tk2,44,711.

Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the new price through a press release on Tuesday.

The price of 21-carat gold is now Tk2,33,572 per bhori, 18-carat gold is Tk2,00,213 per bhori, and traditional method gold is set at Tk1,63,063 per bhori.

BAJUS said the adjustment was made in line with overall market conditions following a rise in the local price of tejabi gold, or pure gold.

The notice further said 5 percent VAT and a minimum wage of 6 percent must be added to the selling price of gold. The wage may vary depending on the design and quality of the jewellery.

Moreover, the price of silver has also increased. 22‑carat silver is selling at Tk5,715 per bhori, 21‑carat at Tk5,424 per bhori, 18‑carat at Tk4,666 per bhori, and traditional silver at Tk3,499 per bhori.
