The price of gold in domestic market has seen another significant surge, with Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) increasing the price of 22-carat gold by Tk5,482 per bhori.
According to the new rates, the price of a bhori (11.664 grams) of high-quality 22-carat gold has been set at Tk2,30,422.
BAJUS announced this decision in a press release on Monday morning, stating that the revised prices would be effective from 10am.
The association stated that the price adjustment was necessitated by a rise in the value of pure gold (locally known as tejabi gold) in the local market.
Under the newly approved price list, 21-carat gold will now cost Tk2,14,734 per bhori, while 18-carat gold has been priced at Tk1,84,058 per bhori. Additionally, the price of gold refined through the traditional method has been fixed at Tk1,49,882 per bhori.
This latest hike follows a previous adjustment on the morning of 13 June, when BAJUS increased the price by Tk6,590, bringing 22-carat gold to Tk2,24,940 per bhori at that time.
Market records show that gold prices have been adjusted a total of 75 times so far this year. Out of these revisions, the price was increased on 39 occasions and decreased 36 times.
In the previous year, 2025, the market witnessed a total of 93 price adjustments, consisting of 64 increases and 29 decreases.
