Four members of a family sustained burn injuries following a gas cylinder leak explosion in Daudkandi, Cumilla.
Resident Surgeon of the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery Shawon Bin Rahman confirmed the matter on Tuesday. The victims have been identified as Monowara, 60, Zil Haq, 37, Umme Humayra, 30, and Hurram, 2.
They were rescued and brought to the hospital’s emergency department at around 6am. According to the doctor, Monowara sustained burns on two percent of her body, Zil Haq on 54 percent, Umme Humayra on 65 percent, and Hurram on six percent.
Daudkandi Fire Station Inspector Ershad Husain said the incident occurred on the ground floor of a three-storey building in West Maijpara. The explosion was caused by a gas leak from the line.
