Visitors are granted free entry to four tourist centres managed by the district administration in Bandarban to observe July Uprising Day.
A notification to this effect was issued on Tuesday morning, signed by SM Hasan, the additional district commissioner of Bandarban.
The notice states that entry to Nilachal, Meghla, Prantik Lake, and Chimbuk tourist centres, all run by the district administration, will be free for everyone on Wednesday to mark July Uprising Day.
Local tourism-linked business owners have mentioned that this measure will save each visitor approximately Tk200 in entry fees. They added that tourists will now be able to visit these scenic spots easily without any extra expenditure.
The business community expressed hope that the move would have a positive impact on the district’s tourism sector and further boost tourist interest.
