Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md Ali Hossain Fakir received a courtesy call from France’s Deputy Homeland Security Attaché Christelle Fontaine on Sunday at the Police Headquarters.
During the meeting, the French deputy homeland security attaché highly praised the performance of Bangladesh Police in the 13th National Parliament election. She expressed interest in expanding the capabilities of Bangladesh Police with the aim of crowd control, migrant assistance, crime investigation, and institutional capacity building.
Welcoming the interest of the Deputy Homeland Security Attaché, the IGP emphasised modernising traffic management in Dhaka, enhancing the skills of police personnel working in the hill tracts and Rohingya camps, providing training on immigration, cyber security and human trafficking, and further strengthening mutual cooperation between the police forces of the two countries.
Senior police officials were present during the meeting.
