Four people have died from suspected measles across the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths from suspected cases to 739 since 15 March, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The health authority disclosed the figures in a statement issued by its control room on Thursday.
The DGHS said 870 suspected measles cases were reported in the latest 24-hour period, taking the total number of suspected cases recorded between 15 March and 30 July to 127,410.
During the same period, 135 new confirmed measles cases were detected, while the total number of confirmed cases since March reached 15,874.
The DGHS data showed that 110,182 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospitals nationwide since 15 March. Of them, 106,053 patients have recovered and been discharged.
However, 96 deaths have been reported from confirmed measles cases since March.
