Foreign Minister Khalilur Rahman has left for Saudi Arabia on his first official overseas visit since the formation of the BNP government.
The minister departed Dhaka for Jeddah after 1:30am on Tuesday to participate in an emergency session of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The ministerial-level meeting, scheduled to take place in Jeddah on Thursday, will primarily focus on Israeli aggression in the occupied West Bank.
During the emergency session, the foreign minister is also expected to hold bilateral discussions with his counterparts from several OIC member states.
Khalilur Rahman is scheduled to return to Bangladesh this Saturday following the conclusion of his visit.
