Biman Bangladesh Airlines has announced that two flights on the Dhaka–Medina and Dhaka–Jeddah routes, which were cancelled on Saturday due to Middle East airspace closures, will operate on Sunday at rescheduled times.

In a press release, the airline said the Dhaka–Medina flight BG 337, cancelled on Saturday, will depart for Medina at 4pm on Sunday.

Similarly, the Dhaka–Jeddah flight BG 335 will leave Dhaka for Jeddah at 7pm on Sunday.

The airline has requested all passengers to arrive at the airport ahead of the scheduled departure times.

All Middle East-bound flights were suspended on Saturday by Biman as well as other domestic and international carriers following the strikes on Iran.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport’s Executive Director Group Captain SM Ragib Samad, said that by Sunday morning, 27 flights had been cancelled.

In response, the government has taken special measures at the airport to assist stranded passengers, with support being provided through the expatriates’ welfare desk.
