No case has been filed yet regarding the horrific gunfight over establishing dominance between two pirate groups in Sukhchar Union of Hatiya Upazila, Noakhali. The bodies have been sent to Hatiya after autopsy. One body has bullet marks, and the others have injuries from other locally made weapons.
Meanwhile, the identities of the five deceased have been found. The deceased are Md Alauddin (40), Md Mobarak Hossain (23), Abul Kashem (62), Hok Sab (60), and Kamal Uddin (40). Among the injured is Md Sohrab (25).
Regarding the autopsy, Assistant Director Doctor Mohammad Farid Uddin Chowdhury of the 250-bed Noakhali General Hospital said, “The autopsy of five individuals killed in the clash between two groups in Hatiya was completed in the afternoon. While one body had bullet marks, the other four had injuries from local weapons. One body’s autopsy was conducted by Doctor Waliullah Masum, and the other four bodies’ autopsies were conducted by Doctor Rana Chowdhury.”
On this matter, Noakhali District Additional Police Superintendent (Crime and Administration) Abu Tayyab Md Arif Hossain said, “The bodies of the deceased have been sent to Hatiya Police Station after autopsy. Special police operations are ongoing to maintain peace in the area and recover illegal weapons. The case filing process regarding this incident is underway. Additional police have been deployed in the area to control the situation.”
