Five graduating students of Chittagong University (CU) have secured immediate job placement offers across key entry-level and early-career tiers during a day-long career fest hosted by Nagad, the digital financial service provider of the Bangladesh Post Office.
The campus career and recruitment drive, titled “Nagad Navigate: Shape Your Future,” was organised on Wednesday at the BBA Auditorium, CU, in collaboration with the MBA Association of the University of Chittagong (MAUC), reads a press release.
The event saw spontaneous participation from hundreds of students who arrived early to explore opportunities within the FinTech industry.
Nagad’s HR Recruitment Panel conducted on-site CV screenings, candidate evaluations, and direct interviews for various positions, including Territory Officers / Territory Managers (TO/TM), Sales Team members, and Nagad’s flagship internship programme, N-Risers. A significant number of resumes were submitted during the session.
Farhana Alam Nipa, an interviewee who received an instant offer, described the experience as “surreal,” saying that the seamless process and direct feedback from HR leaders provided her with immense confidence.
Another successful candidate, Md Ridoy, remarked that the platform offered essential clarity on the expectations top corporate employers have for fresh graduates.
Nagad Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed highlighted the company’s commitment to youth development. “Through such an initiative, our goal is to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry needs,” he said, adding that the potential of CU students reinforces the company’s belief in nurturing homegrown talent.
Ahmed also led a session on Artificial Intelligence (AI), where students won prizes for participating in a Q&A segment.
MAUC Vice-President ANM Wazed Ali noted that students outside Dhaka often face limited corporate exposure.
He praised Nagad for redefining traditional hiring practices by bringing interviews and career guidance directly to the campus, suggesting the collaboration would help corporates identify top-tier talent early.
The event featured several specialised knowledge-sharing sessions, including “MFS: The Future of Digital Careers”, “Professionalism That Elevates”, “Resume That Wins”, and “Shape the Future: How AI is Transforming Careers”.
Furthermore, experienced HR professionals provided personalised one-to-one career counselling on resume optimisation and workplace readiness.
To add a vibrant atmosphere to the professional proceedings, students participated in interactive quiz competitions and recreational activities, such as foosball and PlayStation 5 (PS5) gaming sessions.
This initiative follows a similar successful on-campus placement drive conducted by Nagad at Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB), as part of its ongoing nationwide youth empowerment initiative.
