Train services were briefly disrupted in Brahmanbaria on Thursday night after a fire was set on the railway tracks near Bhatsala Railway Station in Sadar upazila.

The fire broke out around 11pm, prompting police from Sadar Police Station to rush to the area. They extinguished the flames and restored normal train operations.

During the disruption, the Chattogram-bound Mahanagar Express remained stranded at Brahmanbaria Station for about 30 minutes before departing shortly after midnight.

The incident occurred at the same spot where another fire had been set late on Wednesday night.

Akhaura Railway Police Station Officer-in-Charge SM Shafiqul Islam said he inspected the station area with police personnel. He added that although train movement was halted temporarily, services have now returned to normal.
