A refinery in Haifa, northern Israel caught fire on Monday following a rocket attack from Iran and Lebanon, according to local news reports.
Video broadcast by a news outlet showed smoke billowing from the facility, though it remained unclear whether the refinery was struck directly by a rocket or damaged by debris from an attempted interception, according to Al Jazeera’s reporting.
There were no reports of injuries.
The same outlet noted that surrounding areas also sustained damage from the attacks.
The region has remained on high alert since late February, when a military campaign involving the US and Israel resulted in over 1,300 deaths, including that of a former Iranian leader.
Iran has responded with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations that host American military forces.
