A fire that broke out in the extension of Bijoy Ekattor Hall at Dhaka University (DU) on Monday evening has been brought under control.
The blaze erupted in a tin-shed kitchen of the dormitory. According to a Fire Service official, authorities received the report at 6:13pm.
Four units from the Polashi and Siddiq Bazar fire stations arrived at the scene by 6:20pm and managed to extinguish the flames within 10 minutes.
No casualties have been reported. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are yet to be determined.
