The Department of Films and Publications has announced funding for two new short films focusing on history, culture and religious harmony, inviting proposals from interested production companies.
According to a notification issued on April 26, one of the projects is ‘Gazi Kalu O Chompaboti’, a 25 to 30-minute short film featuring English subtitles. A budget of Tk20 lakh has been allocated for its production.
The second project will highlight themes of Islamic culture, tolerance and unity. This film will run between 12 and 15 minutes and has been allocated Tk10 lakh.
The selected production house will be responsible for the full process, including script development, casting, filming, editing, dubbing and post-production work such as colour grading. Authorities have stressed the need for strong creative and technical capability.
Applicants must have at least five years of relevant industry experience. Interested organisations are required to submit sealed proposals and scripts to the Director General’s office of the Department of Film and Publication by 12 noon on May 9.
