Farah Noor has become the Company Secretary and Head of Compliance of British American Tobacco Bangladesh PLC (BAT Bangladesh PLC), becoming the first woman to hold the position in the company’s history.
The appointment took effect on 23 July 2026, with Noor taking charge of corporate governance, compliance and supporting the Board of Directors in fulfilling its governance responsibilities.
Noor brings more than 25 years of legal and corporate experience, including over 20 years with BAT Bangladesh and more than four years as an associate lawyer at a leading law firm in Bangladesh.
She joined BAT Bangladesh in 2005 and has served in several senior legal and business partnering roles, most recently as Litigation and Corporate Counsel.
Before joining BAT Bangladesh, Noor served as a Legal Adviser to the Bangladesh Bar Council Human Rights Training Programme.
She holds LL.B. (Honours) and LL.M. degrees from the University of Dhaka and has completed professional development programmes in Malaysia, the Netherlands, Singapore and Hong Kong.
In her new role, Noor will lead BAT Bangladesh’s corporate governance and compliance agenda while strengthening the company’s governance framework in line with global practices and evolving regulatory requirements.

She said she remained committed to supporting the company’s long-term sustainable success and hoped the milestone would encourage more women to pursue leadership roles.
