Tamanna Nusrat Bubly, a former reserved seat lawmaker and wife of former Narsingdi mayor Lokman Hossain, has been shown arrested in a case filed under the Anti‑Terrorism Act.12345
Dhaka’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Awlad Hossain Mohammad Jonaid passed the order after police filed a petition to show her arrested in the case.
State counsel Omar Faruk Faruqui said Md Shafiqul Rahman, sub‑inspector of Tejgaon Police Station, submitted the petition on 29 April. Bubly was produced from jail during Monday’s court proceedings.
According to the case statement, on 7 September 2025, activists of banned groups staged an illegal procession in front of Park Town Restaurant at Monipuripara under Tejgaon Police Station. They carried banners of outlawed organisations and detonated two crude bombs to spread panic and destabilise the state. Ten were arrested on the spot, while 30–40 others fled.
During interrogation, arrestees said they were rallying to destabilise the state, encourage terrorist activities, and demand the resignation of Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus.
Sub‑Inspector Niaz Uddin later filed the case under the Anti‑Terrorism Act.
Police had earlier arrested Bubly in Mirpur on 28 September last year. She has remained in jail since then.
