Miscreants reportedly demolished the residence of a local Awami League leader in Patuakhali’s Mirzaganj upazila using an excavator, before looting valuables and setting the house ablaze.

The attack took place early Saturday at the home of Mohammad Mizanur Rahman Lavlu Kazi, former president of Madhabkhali Union Awami League and former chairman of the union parishad, reports UNB.

The residence is located near Kathaltali Bazar on the Barguna–Subidkhali–Kathaltali–Bakerganj regional highway.

On Friday afternoon, she was admitted to a local hospital after falling ill.
