East West University (EWU) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) have entered a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) to jointly offer specialised professional courses, bridging the gap between academia and industry.
The MoC was signed on Thursday at the EWU campus, marking a significant step towards enhancing the skills of professionals in contemporary business and economic sectors.
The MoC was signed by Professor Shams Rahman, vice-chancellor of EWU, and Taskeen Ahmed, president of the DCCI.
The partnership aims to introduce a series of high-impact professional courses, focusing on critical areas such as entrepreneurship and startup development, sustainable business strategy, ESG reporting, and project management.
These courses will be offered in both online and in-person formats, providing flexibility to participants. The courses will be available four times a year, making them accessible to a wide range of professionals looking to upskill.
The signing ceremony was attended by key representatives from both institutions. EWU’s delegation included Professor Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of the Board of Trustees; Professor Ashik Mosaddik, pro vice-chancellor; and Professor Ahmed Wasif Reza, dean.
The DCCI was represented by Md Salem Sulaiman, vice president, along with directors Mamnun Quader, Kamrul Hasan Tuhin, and Minhaj Ahmed, among other officials and guests.
