A delegation from the European Union (EU) election observation mission on Tuesday met with Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) President AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon.
The mission’s Political Analyst Marcel Nagi, and Legal Analyst Irini Maria Gounari exchanged views with Khokon, covering a broad understanding of the legal framework for conducting elections in Bangladesh, as well as the political and campaign environment.
Supreme Court lawyer Barrister Sakib Mahbub and other lawyers were present at the meeting.
The European Union election observation mission was formed following an official invitation from the Bangladeshi authorities, including Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Election Commission.
This will enable them to deploy observers across the country during the 13th parliamentary election.
