Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury said emphasis must be placed on improving labour management relations to address challenges facing the current government.
He made this remark during a courtesy call by representatives of the Bangladesh Employers Federation at the Ministry of Labour and Employment conference room.
Chowdhury said new labour markets must be explored, and work should be carried out in the national interest rather than through rhetoric.
“We have come here only to work and have no other vision,” he added.
State Minister Md Nurul Haque said inadequate Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) for overseas workers was creating a negative perception about Bangladeshi workers abroad.
He also stressed the need to make training centres more active to develop skilled human resources.
Other ministry officials and representatives of the Bangladesh Employers Federation were present at the meeting.
