In Dhaka, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that the 6th Embassy Football Fest 2025 will now be held on 23 and 24 January 2026, following its postponement from the originally scheduled dates in December due to unavoidable circumstances.
The revised dates were formally communicated to participating diplomatic missions, with the ministry confirming that all other arrangements, including the tournament format and participation modalities, will remain unchanged. The organisers expressed appreciation for the understanding and cooperation shown by embassies, high commissions and international organisations involved in the event.
The tournament had initially been scheduled for 5 and 6 December 2025 but was postponed at short notice. At the time, the ministry stated it was working with GamePlay Ltd to finalise a new schedule and sought the continued support of the diplomatic community.
GamePlay Ltd had formally unveiled the 6th Embassy Football Fest on 3 December 2025 at a press conference at The Westin Dhaka, where the team jerseys, championship trophy and official schedule were presented. The event marked the ceremonial launch of one of the most anticipated diplomatic sporting festivals in Bangladesh.
Since 2018, GamePlay Ltd has organised five Embassy Football Fests, two Embassy Cricket Carnivals and several other diplomatic sporting events, establishing the festival as a regular platform for cultural exchange within Dhaka’s diplomatic community. Saudi Arabia won the football championship at the 2024 edition.
The upcoming edition will feature 30 diplomatic missions and international organisations, with 24 teams competing on the field. Bangladesh will be represented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while logistical support will be provided by the Bangladesh Football Federation.
