The 13th parliamentary election was more neutral, peaceful, and fair compared to any previous election, the Human Rights Support Society (HRSS) has said.
The rights organisation shared its observations at a press conference held at Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on Sunday.
It also said that the national election was conducted without major disruptions or violence. However, HRSS workers reported that at least 393 incidents of violence occurred across the country on election day.
The group further said that while large-scale violence did not occur during the polls, in the post-election period there were more than 200 separate clashes in at least 30 districts involving BNP, Jamaat-e-Islami, and independent candidates. Over 300 people were injured in these incidents.
At least 350 establishments were vandalised, looted, and set on fire during these incidents, the HRSS claimed.
