The Election Commission (EC) is set to release the final list of polling centres for the upcoming national elections on Monday.

Senior EC Secretary Akhtar Ahmed made the announcement while speaking to reporters at the Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, Dhaka, on Sunday, following a meeting with representatives from the Commonwealth.

“We hope to complete the process within this week. We have a responsibility to do it on time,” he added.
When asked whether any decision had been made about the National Citizen Party (NCP)’s election symbol,

Akhtar Ahmed declined to give a direct answer. “We will inform you about the matter later,” he said.

The EC secretary further noted that not every task can be executed exactly as planned.

“Certain issues require adjustments depending on the situation. Some tasks have been completed earlier, while others are still pending. A few more will take some additional time. It is not always possible to set fixed dates for every step,” he explained.
