Campaigns for the upcoming Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) elections are in full swing, but left-backed General Secretary (GS) candidate Meghmallar Bosu has suddenly fallen ill. He is scheduled to undergo an appendicitis surgery this Tuesday.
Bosu himself confirmed the matter in a social media post earlier in the day, seeking prayers from well-wishers as well as political rivals.
“The fear I had has come true. My body betrayed me. Tonight I have to undergo an appendix operation. I don’t think I’ll be able to continue campaigning in person anymore. It’s a simple surgery usually, but the doctors are not allowing any delay as the condition has already worsened,” he wrote.
Concluding his post, the GS candidate appealed, “I seek prayers and blessings from friends and foes alike.”
