Mimo was found hanging from a ceiling fan in her room. Family members noted that she typically slept with the door open, but they found it locked after Fajr prayers. When she failed to respond to their knocks, they broke into the room and discovered her body.

A suicide note recovered from the scene reportedly mentioned the names of the teacher and a classmate. In the note, Mimo requested that Tk 50,000 be given to the teacher and expressed well wishes for both individuals mentioned.

Gulshan Division Deputy Commissioner M Tanveer Ahmed stated that the body has been sent to the Dhaka Medical College morgue for an autopsy. He further noted that the family suspects the teacher and the student may have been in a relationship.

Earlier, police had detained a classmate for questioning alongside the teacher. She was later released as the deceased’s family did not file any complaints against her.

Kazi Tamanna Haque Sigma, the chair of Theatre and Performance Studies department, told the media that faculty members visited the residence after being informed of Mimo’s death.

Sigma added that materials left behind indicated a connection between Mimo and a teacher.
