The application process for Dhaka University’s undergraduate admission for the academic session 2025–26 has started and will continue till 16 November.

DU has recently announced its undergraduate enrollment details on the official website.

Students who passed their SSC or equivalent examinations between 2020 and 2023, and HSC or equivalent examinations in 2025, are eligible to apply.

Unit-Wise GPA Requirements

Science Unit

Applicants from the Science or Agricultural Science groups, as well as those who passed Alim under the Madrasah Education Board or equivalent IGCSE/O-Level and IAL/A-Level examinations, must have a combined GPA of at least 8.0 in SSC and HSC (including the fourth subject).

Individually, both exams must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Students from Humanities or Business Studies backgrounds are also eligible, provided they have a combined GPA of 7.5 (minimum 3.0 in each exam).

Arts, Law, and Social Science Unit

Students from the Humanities stream or Alim (General) background under the Madrasah Board, or those who completed IGCSE/O-Level and IAL/A-Level, need a combined GPA of 7.5 (minimum 3.0 separately).

However, Science students require a combined GPA of 8.0 (minimum 3.5 in each), and Business Studies students need 7.5 (minimum 3.0 individually) to qualify.

Applicants from the Business Studies stream or equivalent foreign curriculums must have a combined GPA of 7.5, with at least 3.0 in each exam.

The students from Science or Humanities streams can also apply. In that case, Science students must have a total GPA of 8.0 (minimum 3.5 individually), and Humanities students must secure 7.5 (minimum 3.0 separately).

Fine Arts Unit

The students from any academic background can apply for this unit. The combined GPA in SSC and HSC (including the fourth subject) must be 6.5, with a minimum 3.0 in each exam.

IBA Unit

Applicants must achieve a minimum GPA of 3.5 in both SSC and HSC (or equivalent) examinations, with a total of 8.0.

IGCSE/O-Level and A-Level students need at least five O-Level subjects (including Mathematics) and two A-Level subjects. Out of the seven, at least two must have an A grade, and the GPA should be 3.5 or higher in both levels.

Admission test schedule

According to the announced timetable, Arts, Law, and Social Science unit exam will be held on 13 December, Science unit on 20 December, Business Studies Unit on 6 December and Fine Arts Unit on 29 November. These tests will take place from 11am to 12:30pm. IBA Unit admission test is scheduled for 28 November from 10am to 12pm.

Application fee and payment process

The application fee has been set at Tk 1,050, payable through any branch of the four state-owned banks – Sonali, Janata, Agrani, and Rupali or via online payment options such as debit/credit cards and mobile financial services.

Exam centres

Except for the Fine Arts and IBA units, admission tests will be held across eight divisional cities – Rajshahi University, Chittagong University, Barishal University, Khulna University, Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (Mymensingh/Trishal), and Begum Rokeya University (Rangpur).

Mark distribution and evaluation

Except for the Fine Arts Unit, each test will include 60 marks for MCQs and 40 marks for written questions. The Fine Arts Unit will feature 40 marks for MCQs and 60 marks for a drawing test.

The applicants will get 30 minutes for MCQs and 60 minutes for drawing in the Fine Arts test, while other units will allot 45 minutes each for MCQ and written parts.

Admissions will be evaluated out of 120 marks, with 100 marks from the admission test and 20 marks based on SSC and HSC results.
