Sensationalised actress Porimoni has revealed that she received a threatening phone call from an unknown foreign number, in which she was abused and warned that her life was in danger. She shared the audio clip of the call on her social media account on Sunday, February 8.
Porimoni explained that the initial call came unexpectedly from a German number at 2:49 pm. The brief 15-second call included a cryptic reference to election equipment being sent to remote areas. She reportedly responded, questioning whether she was expected to share information. The caller then ended the call.
A second call followed from a different number. This time, her phone did not display an international code. Suspecting something was wrong, Porimoni immediately began screen-recording the conversation. The caller verbally abused her using explicit language and issued a direct death threat.
Addressing the incident, Porimoni told the TIMES of Bangladesh, “Do you understand the meaning of a death threat? I feel like I have given my life away.” She added that she plans to pursue legal action, emphasising, “This is not a joke. This is a threat to shoot and kill. It must be investigated. Why was I targeted?”
The actress also confirmed that the perpetrators did not provide any names or other identifying information. Despite the fear the incident caused, Porimoni felt it was important to share the situation publicly rather than keeping it private.
Porimoni has several films awaiting release and is set to star opposite actor Nirab in the upcoming film ‘Golap’.
