Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 2,880 cases against traffic law violators in different areas of the capital during a drive.
According to DMP Traffic Division sources, Ramna division filed a total of 120 cases, including against 17 buses, one truck, seven covered vans, 10 CNGs and 37 motorcycles.
Lalbagh division filed 215 cases, including against 19 buses, nine trucks, two covered vans, 14 CNGs and 145 motorcycles.
Motijheel division filed 483 cases, including against 30 buses, five trucks, 37 covered vans, 187 CNGs and 350 motorcycles.
Wari division filed 414 cases, including against 37 buses, 19 trucks, 47 covered vans, 50 CNGs and 142 motorcycles.
Meanwhile, Tejgaon division filed 246 cases, including against 10 buses, four trucks, nine covered vans, 38 CNGs and 111 motorcycles.
Mirpur division filed 621 cases, including against 15 buses, nine trucks, 19 covered vans, 89 CNGs and 396 motorcycles.
Uttara division filed 318 cases, including against 50 buses, 11 trucks, 15 covered vans, 54 CNGs and 109 motorcycles.
Gulshan division filed 263 cases, including against 29 buses, seven trucks, 14 covered vans, 26 CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 90 motorcycles.
During the drive, police also dumped 598 vehicles and towed 400 others.
The cases were filed during a drive carried out by DMP Traffic Division across various areas of the capital on Thursday and Friday.
The drive to maintain traffic discipline in the Dhaka metropolitan area will continue, officials said.
