Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Traffic Division filed 1,477 cases against individuals for violating traffic regulations during operations conducted across various areas of the capital on Wednesday.

The police confirmed this information through a press release issued on Thursday.

According to the release, the Traffic-Ramna division recorded a total of 88 cases, involving 2 buses, 1 covered van, 9 CNG-run auto-rickshaws, and 35 motorcycles.

In the Traffic-Lalbagh division, 115 cases were filed, including 9 buses, 9 trucks, 2 covered vans, 12 CNGs, and 65 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Motijheel division saw 230 cases against 8 buses, 6 trucks, 17 covered vans, 44 CNGs, and 137 motorcycles, while the Traffic-Wari division recorded 79 cases involving 6 buses, 12 trucks, 16 covered vans, 10 CNGs, and 25 motorcycles.

Furthermore, the Traffic-Tejgaon division filed 163 cases involving 11 buses, 1 truck, 8 covered vans, 28 CNGs, and 84 motorcycles.

The Traffic-Mirpur division recorded the highest number of incidents with 448 cases, including 2 buses, 6 trucks, 20 covered vans, 50 CNGs, and 297 motorcycles.

In the Traffic-Uttara division, 158 cases were filed against 11 buses, 5 trucks, 5 covered vans, 5 CNGs, and 79 motorcycles. The Traffic-Gulshan division saw 196 cases involving 8 buses, 8 covered vans, 13 CNGs, and 81 motorcycles.

During these enforcement operations, the DMP also confirmed that 435 vehicles were sent to dumping and 212 vehicles were towed by wreckers.

The police stated that the DMP’s Traffic Division will continue its operations to maintain traffic discipline within the Dhaka Metropolitan area.
