Aditya Dhar’s film ‘Dhurandhar’ has made a strong impact at the Bollywood box office and surpassed the earnings of Pathaan, Jawan and several other recent releases. Audiences have praised the film widely, though some groups have criticised it sharply. The makers have now released a revised version of the film.
According to Indian media reports, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting sent notices to cinema halls across the country on December 31 and instructed them to make several changes. The notice ordered the removal of two specific words and the alteration of one dialogue.
Cinema authorities have instructed theatre owners to screen the revised version from Thursday, January 1. The makers removed the word “Baloch” from the new cut of Dhurandhar.
As the film approaches one month since its release, it continues to perform exceptionally well at the box office. The film has earned ₹1,117.9 crore worldwide so far. In India, it collected ₹11 crore on its 27th day and has crossed ₹723.25 crore in total domestic earnings.
Dhurandhar stars Ranveer Singh in the lead role as an Indian intelligence officer. Several countries have banned the film despite its commercial success. The cast also features Sanjay Dutt, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun and Rakesh Bedi in key roles.
