Three people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, while 463 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country with the mosquito-borne disease, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The latest figures were shared in a dengue situation report issued by the DGHS’s Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room on Thursday.
Among the newly hospitalised patients, 189 were reported in Dhaka Division, 69 in Chattogram, 67 in Barishal, 62 in Khulna, 32 in Rajshahi, 21 in Mymensingh, 20 in Rangpur and three in Sylhet.
With the latest additions, the number of dengue patients hospitalised across the country this year has reached 15,153 as of Thursday.
The three new deaths reported in the last 24 hours have raised the dengue death toll this year to 53.
So far this year, 13,931 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals, while 1,169 patients remain under treatment.
DGHS data showed that Bangladesh recorded 102,861 dengue cases and 413 deaths between 1 January and 31 December, 2025.
In 2024, the country reported 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths.
The deadliest dengue outbreak in recent years was recorded in 2023, when 321,179 people were hospitalised and 1,705 deaths were reported nationwide.
