DB seeks seven-day remand for content creator Hasan Nasim

The Detective Branch (DB) of police has sought a seven-day remand for content creator Hasan Nasim, who was arrested in a case filed at Gulshan Police Station over spreading misleading information about the chief whip of the National Parliament.

The case’s investigating officer, Md Raihanur Rahman, submitted the remand application to the court on Saturday. The hearing on the matter is scheduled before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jamshed Alam. Although Nasim was produced before the court at 12:45pm on the day, the hearing had not yet begun as of the time of reporting.

Defence lawyer Jahurul Islam confirmed the information. He said, “We have been sitting here since noon, but the hearing has not yet started.”

Hasan Nasim is originally from Patharghata area in Barguna district. Professionally, he works as a consultant, providing technical assistance, including form filling, to students interested in pursuing higher education abroad. Additionally, as the administrator of a popular Facebook page named “Patharghata Dot Com”, he used to write about local issues and irregularities.
