Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) and MetLife Foundation have provided training, certification, and financial support to 40 persons with disabilities to help them start small businesses and achieve financial independence.
The support has been provided under the Jagoron programme launched in 2025, the organisations said in a press release.
The programme offers specialised training in computer office applications, electronics and mobile phone servicing, and dressmaking and tailoring to equip participants with practical skills.
It also provides access to tools and resources, helping trainees transition from learning to income-generating activities and supporting sustainable livelihoods.
A further 110 trainees are expected to receive similar support in the coming months as part of the initiative to expand inclusive economic opportunities.
During the training period, CRP provides free medical and therapy services in an inclusive and accessible environment to ensure holistic support for the participants.
MetLife Foundation said the initiative reflects its focus on strengthening communities through education, skills development, and access to resources.
