The International Crimes Tribunal-1 will hold a hearing on Monday against Fazlur Rahman, BNP candidate from the Kishoreganj-4 constituency, on charges of contempt of court for making derogatory remarks against the ICT.
In addition, a show-cause notice was issued against him, asking why legal action should not be taken for contempt of court. He was also summoned that day.
According to the order, Fazlur Rahman must appear before the court on Monday. On 30 November, the tribunal directed the Supreme Court lawyer to appear in person and explain the allegations brought against him.
At that time, he was also instructed to bring all his academic certificates and the certificate obtained from the Bangladesh Bar Council as a lawyer.
Subsequently, Fazlur Rahman submitted a written application to the tribunal’s registrar office seeking unconditional apology for the contempt charges.
On 26 November, the prosecution filed a contempt of court complaint against him with the tribunal’s registrar office, citing remarks he made during a television talk show.
