BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that after a long period of fascist government rule, the people of the country have received the opportunity to build a new Bangladesh through an uprising.
He stated, “A conspiracy is underway in Bangladesh, where attempts are being made to create division in the upcoming election. Extremist groups want to create division. Our responsibility will be to protect our rights by fighting together, just like in ’71.”
He made these remarks on Saturday afternoon at the first national representative assembly of the Jatiyatabadi Khudra Jatigashthi, held at the Tarek Smriti Auditorium in Mymensingh Town Hall.
He said, “A new Bangladesh will be built under the leadership of Tarique Rahman, where everyone’s rights will be established.”
At that time, he expressed confidence in the unity of the nation under Tarique Rahman’s leadership and called upon everyone to remain united and continue the struggle.
The assembly was presided over by the Central President of the Bangladesh Nationalist Small Ethnic Groups Party, Mrigen Hagidger. Various important leaders and members of the BNP were present at the event.
Among them were BNP Chairperson’s Advisor Bijan Kanti Sarkar, Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Divisional Organising Secretary Shariful Alam, Co-Organising Secretary Abu Wahab Akand, Convener of the Southern District BNP Zakir Hossain Bablu, and many others.
Before the assembly, the event was inaugurated with the national anthem at the Tarek Smriti Auditorium in the Town Hall. At the beginning of the event, indigenous young women performed traditional dances. After the assembly, on behalf of the chief guest Tarique Rahman, 26 sewing machines were distributed among women of belonging to various indigenous groups.
Additionally, representatives of indigenous groups from 12 regions of the country participated in the assembly, and they also presented cultural performances.
