Bangladesh Army Chief General Waker-Uz-Zaman left Dhaka for Japan on Wednesday on a four-day official visit to attend the opening ceremony of the 20th Asian Games.
As the president of Bangladesh Olympic Association, the army chief will attend the opening ceremony of the Asian Games to be held in Aichi-Nagoya of Japan, reports UNB.
During his visit, General Waker-Uz-Zaman will also attend various sporting events of the Asian Games and hold bilateral meetings with senior officials of the Asian Games and Olympic associations.
The visit is expected to provide an opportunity for discussions on sports cooperation and matters related to Bangladesh’s participation in major international sporting events.
