Liberation War Affairs Adviser Farooq-e-Azam has underscored the importance of ensuring dignified rehabilitation for the families of martyrs and those injured in the 2024 July Uprising.
Addressing an inter-ministerial meeting at the Ministry of Liberation War Affairs on Monday, he said rehabilitation initiatives must be based on the education, skills, and work experience of the affected families.
“The ministry has already circulated detailed guidelines on the process of rehabilitating the families of July martyrs and those who actively took part in the uprising,” he noted.
Farooq-e-Azam urged all ministries and relevant bodies to take concrete measures and design future plans in line with the spirit and courage shown during the July movement.
Highlighting the government’s commitment, he said the interim administration has rolled out a comprehensive rehabilitation package, which will be executed without delay.
Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Employment and Expatriates’ Welfare Dr Neyamat Ullah Bhuiyan, Secretary of the Liberation War Affairs Ministry Israt Chowdhury, Secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Public Works Md Nazrul Islam, and Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology Md Anwar Hossain, along with representatives from various ministries, departments, and institutions, were present at the meeting.
