A complaint has been filed with the Supreme Judicial Council seeking action against Supreme Court’s Appellate Division Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam over allegations of irregularities, corruption and acting as an accomplice of fascism.
Anwar Sadat Tutul, joint secretary of the AB Party, and Muhammad Zakir Hossain, a resident of Patuakhali, lodged the complaint at the SC’s Registrar General office on Monday.
TIMES of Bangladesh has obtained a copy of the complaint.
The complainants have requested if the allegations are found to be true upon investigation, necessary action be taken against Justice Ashfaqul in accordance with Article 96(6) of the Constitution.
Separately, another complaint has also been filed with the Supreme Judicial Council against High Court Division Justice Md Rezaul Hasan.
Shah Group Chairman KM Mojibul Haque submitted the complaint on 24 November, alleging corruption, misconduct and abuse of power.
