Community Bank Bangladesh PLC celebrated its 6th anniversary on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at a prestigious hotel in the capital, reflecting the bank’s journey of growth and innovation.
The event was led by Chairman and Inspector General of Police Baharul Alam, who reaffirmed the bank’s founding philosophy of serving as a “people’s bank”.
In his address, Alam emphasized the bank’s commitment to the nation’s economic growth, stating, “Guided by the principles of Trust, Security, and Progress, Community Bank Bangladesh has always focused on contributing to Bangladesh’s economic advancement.”
The event was attended by the bank’s Board of Directors, valued customers, distinguished guests, and media representatives. The program began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by audio-visual presentations and motion graphics showcasing the bank’s achievements and innovations over the past year.
Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat delivered a keynote address, outlining the bank’s vision and roadmap for the future. He highlighted the bank’s commitment to fostering the growth of SMEs and startups in Bangladesh, citing recent initiatives such as the launch of “SME 360,” an integrated business solution for SMEs, and the introduction of “Startup Nest,” Bangladesh’s first bank-led startup accelerator.
Additionally, the bank unveiled its AI-driven Small Credit Scoring Model, developed in collaboration with local and international partners, along with new customer-centric services like QR-based Cash Withdrawal and Community Access, a web-based banking solution.
The event also featured remarks from key board members, including Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner S M Sazzat Ali, Rapid Action Battalion Director General AKM Shahidur Rahman, Special Branch Bangladesh Police Additional IG Md. Golam Rasul, and Bangladesh Police Headquarters DIG (Admin) Kazi Md. Fazlul Karim.
In line with its commitment to financial inclusion, the bank distributed special refinancing cheques to women entrepreneurs and small business owners. A key moment of the event was the official handover of the first cheque under the AI-driven Credit Scoring Model project, developed in collaboration with PriyoShop and InGenee Singapore.
The celebration concluded with a cake-cutting ceremony, followed by a cultural performance and a gala dinner. The evening brought together stakeholders to celebrate the bank’s six years of growth, service excellence, and innovation.
