Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC Bangladesh Operations has officially inaugurated its new DEPZ Sub-Branch and Offshore Banking Unit (OBU), marking another milestone in its continued expansion and commitment to facilitating global trade.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the new premises on Tuesday, reads a press release.
The Sub-Branch and OBU were officially inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer Najith Meewanage, along with the Executive Director of Dhaka EPZ, Md Shariful Islam.
The event was also attended by senior officials of the Bank, including Deputy CEO & Chief Operating Officer Haily Algewatte, and Deputy CEO & Head of Corporate Banking Mahmud Hossain.
The ceremony was attended by corporate clients, local business leaders, DEPZ officials, and members of the Bank’s staff.
Strategically located to serve the industrial and commercial hub of the Dhaka Export Processing Zone, the new Sub-Branch and Offshore Banking Unit is designed to provide comprehensive and specialised financial services.
The unit will offer offshore banking solutions, general banking services, and tailored trade finance facilities to support export-oriented industries, contributing to Bangladesh’s economic growth through enhanced financial services.
