Metro rail operations were stopped for 16 minutes after cloth became entangled in an electric wire between Uttara North and Uttara South stations.
Metro services came to a halt at 12:22pm on Wednesday.
After the cloth was removed from the line, services resumed at 12:38pm.
Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited (DMTCL), the metro rail operating authority, provided the information in a notice.
DMTCL stated that metro operations were stopped to remove the cloth that had fallen onto the OCS between Uttara North and Uttara South stations.
OCS refers to the Overhead Catenary System or the metro rail’s electric wire.
The metro authority also expressed sincere apologies to passengers for the temporary inconvenience.
Earlier, on Sunday night, metro services were halted after two teenagers climbed onto the roof of a metro train. Before that, last Tuesday, metro services had to be stopped for 20 minutes after a bag fell onto the metro rail track.
