The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Dhaka, has issued a set of urgent instructions for the registration of Class 9 students for 2026-2027 academic session, with the process set to begin on 2 August.
The registration window will remain open until 30 August, according to an urgent notification released by the Office of Controller of Examinations on Monday.
The notice was signed by Professor Md Masud Rana Khan, by order of Dhaka Board chairman.
The board has fixed the registration fee at Tk196 per student if completed within the deadline. For registration processed after the stipulated period, a late fee of Tk140 will be added, bringing the total cost to Tk336.
Under the board’s directives, only students who have successfully passed the Class 8 annual examination and possess valid registration are eligible for admission into Class 9.
The board has strictly defined the age limit for registration between 12 and 18 years. Any student below the age of 12 or above 18 will be considered ineligible for registration.
To ensure the registration process is error-free, every educational institution must form a three-member special committee, which must include the respective class teacher. This committee is responsible for verifying all student information against the school’s admission forms before the data is submitted online.
The notification emphasises that the head of the institution and the committee members will be held jointly accountable for any incorrect information provided. Additionally, the board has prohibited the engagement of students in any aspect of the registration work.
