Citizens Bank PLC on Monday formally launched its Islamic Banking operations under the brand name “Citizens Islamic”, enabling customers seeking partnership-based banking solutions aligned with their religious beliefs and financial principles to access Shariah-compliant service, savings and investment facilities.
The launch will also create new financing opportunities for corporate businesses, SMEs, industries and productive sectors, said a press release on Tuesday.
Citizens Bank PLC Chairman Chowdhury Mohammed Hanif Shoeb formally inaugurated the operations, marking what the bank described as a significant milestone in its journey to provide Shariah-compliant, ethical and customer-centric banking solutions. The bank will operate under the slogan “Pure Banking, Prosperous Tomorrow”.
Those present included Citizens Bank Director and Executive Committee Chairman Masuduzzaman; Directors Mokhlesur Rahman, S M Shofiqul Hoq and Md Rafiqul Alam; and Deputy Managing Directors Md Mostafizur Rahman and Md Abdul Latif, among others.
Distinguished guests and senior representatives from leading corporate conglomerates, along with other prominent business personalities and stakeholders, attended the event, the press release added.
