Citizens Bank PLC has signed an agreement with Dhaka Electricity Supply PLC (DESCO) to collect electricity bills through the bank’s branch network, sub-branches and digital banking platforms across Bangladesh.
The agreement was signed at DESCO’s head office in Nikunja-2, Dhaka, in the presence of Citizens Bank Managing Director Alamgir Hossain and DESCO Managing Director Brigadier General Shameem Ahmed, ndc, psc (Retd), the bank said in a press release.
Citizens Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Mostafizur Rahman and DESCO Superintending Engineer (Company Secretary) Engr SM Shah Sultan signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Under the arrangement, Citizens Bank will facilitate the collection of DESCO electricity bills through its nationwide banking channels, offering customers a convenient, secure and seamless payment experience.
The signing ceremony was also attended by Citizens Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Abdul Latif.
DESCO Executive Director (Finance and Accounts) AZM Sharjil Hasan, General Manager (Finance and Accounts) Md Mominul Islam and Deputy General Manager (Finance and Accounts) Md Manhaj Uddin were also present, alongside senior officials from both organisations.
