CinemaScope, a film apprenticeship program of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, in collaboration with Oxfam in Bangladesh, has officially launched ‘Film for Change 2026.’ This national film incubation initiative is designed to empower young storytellers across Bangladesh to address critical issues of social justice, climate resilience and economic inequality through cinema.
10 selected teams will receive grants of up to Tk1 lakh to make their films, along with mentorship and technical assistance.
The program invites aspiring filmmakers to submit original concepts that explore the human dimensions of development challenges. Participants will work alongside experienced industry experts and academics to refine their creative skills and master impact-driven, ethical storytelling.
Proposal submissions will continue until February 12. The rules and regulations can be found on the Facebook pages of Film for Change and CinemaScope.
The program is open to students currently enrolled in any academic institution in Bangladesh.
Applicants must apply in teams of three, consisting of a director, a scriptwriter and an editor. Through this strategic collaboration between civil society and academia, Film for Change 2026 aims to shape public discourse and inspire meaningful social action.
