‘Peaky Blinders’ fans finally have a date for the long-awaited feature film, with Netflix confirming that ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ will arrive in cinemas on March 6, 2026 before streaming globally on March 20. The announcement marks the official revival of the Shelby saga, four years after the television series drew to a close.
Rather than simply extending the show’s ending, the film revisits Tommy Shelby at a very different point in his life. Set in 1940, as the Second World War intensifies across Europe, the story finds Tommy living in isolation until events abroad pull him back to Birmingham. Unresolved conflicts from his past resurface, pushing him into what creator Steven Knight describes as the most dangerous chapter yet.
Knight told Netflix that the film would take the family into the heart of wartime turmoil, adding that the Peaky Blinders are at war in every sense. The new setting, he said, allows the film to push further into the brutality and political tension that shaped the era.
Cillian Murphy returns as Tommy, despite previously believing his time with the character had ended. Speaking about his comeback, Murphy said Tommy was not finished with him and praised the chance to reunite with Knight and director Tom Harper. “This is one for the fans,” he said.
The cast blends returning favourites with major additions. Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Barry Keoghan and Stephen Graham join long-time Peaky Blinders actors Sophie Rundle, Packy Lee, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck and Jay Lycurgo. Their inclusion hints at a more expansive and cinematic take on the Peaky world.
