A 13-year-old girl and two Ansar personnel were injured in an alleged hand-made bomb attack at a polling station in Gopalganj on Thursday morning.
The incident occurred around 9am at the Reshma International School polling station in Nichupara.
The injured were identified as Ansar members Sukanto Majumder and Jamal Molla, and Amena Khanam, a schoolgirl from Arambag area of Gopalganj town.
All three victims were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Authorities described their injuries as minor.
Zahirul Islam, the presiding officer of the polling station, said the hand bomb was thrown into the voting area.
“Two Ansar members and a child were slightly injured. Voting is now continuing at the centre as usual,” he said.
Despite the blast, polling resumed shortly after the incident and continued without further disruption.
